WISJ goes Swedish. And then I don’t mean the trip to Sweden that our little family took this summer. Although… on that trip, I visited the shop and atelier of Elvelyckan Design in Uppsala. I was so happy to meet the two super sweet sisters and the rest of their family. We started talking and discussed working together for some sewing patterns. Not much later, there’s a huge pile of Elvelyckan fabrics on my sewing table ready to photograph some new tutorials for Teddy, Clara and Senna.
This Clara culotte is made from a super soft french terry (college) fabric in a beautiful rust color. All solid colors by Elvelyckan Design combine really well. So here, Jente is wearing her Clara culotte together with a Teddy sweater in ‘dusty pink’ with a rainbow in this same ‘rusty’ color and ‘ginger’ color. A great outfit for playing, this one.
This culotte is the simplest Clara version: no pockets and no ties. But I did add a paper bag waist to give it a little extra.
The shorts, however, have all Clara options available: pockets and ties. Since September, Elvelyckan also has woven cotton fabrics. These shorts are made from the colorful flowered fabric they released by the beginning of autumn. By the way, both the shorts and the culotte are part of the same Clara pattern (in sizes 18mo to 14y – and the culotte in teen sizes XS to L).
We went to photograph these Clara versions on a beautiful Indian summer day at the end of September. There was a playground with sand and the girls just couldn’t get enough of it. Jente climbing and avoiding sand. Isa rolling around in the sand and showering with it. In some of these pics it seems like we’re on the beach. I love this throwback while days are getting shorter and darker. Hope you do too.
The Clara shorts are combined with an Ada shirt. This pattern is part of the Imme dress & Ada shirt pattern. As you can see, Ada can be worn separately as long sleeved shirt or sweater too.
